Black Moon has just released its first album in more than 16 years. Buckshot, DJ Evil Dee, and 5ft made Rise Of da Moon, produced entirely by Da Beatminerz (Evil and his brother, Mr. Walt). The 15 songs include two video singles, “Creep Wit Me” and “Black Moon Rise.” As usual, a few brothers from the Boot Camp Clik appear in support of the family tree’s Rap roots. Notably, Wu-Tang Clan’s Method Man joins the fold, too, courtesy of “Ease Back.” The song also features Smif-n-Wessun’s General Steele.

“[Method Man] burned it,” Buckshot told AFH TV this week during a video interview with Black Moon. At the 26:00 mark, The Duck Down co-founder says, “When I first heard the beat, I was like, ‘There is nobody else that can get on this beat besides Wu-Tang. When E played the beat, and I heard the boom-boom-boom, I was like, ‘This sh*t is Wu-Tang, period!’ All-day, every day.” DJ Evil Dee recalls Buckshot showing him that moment when the two were traveling together. “Wu-Tang, Boot Camp, we’re family.” In recent years, Smif-n-Wessun’s Tek and the late Sean Price appeared on a recent Wu-Tang Clan song. Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, and Meth’ also appeared on Sean’s Imperius Rex, while The Chef also features on this year’s Smif-n-Wessun LP. Buckshot continues that Method Man’s verse was “bonkers-ly creative,” pushing his pen-game on the standout collaboration.
