The sold-out show, presented by Uproxx, featured appearances from jazz icon Herbie Hancock, rapper Lupe Fiasco, comedian Affion Crockett, and multi-instrumentalist Terrace Martin.

About the Robert Glasper Experiment: A quartet centered around jazz pianist Robert Glasper, the Robert Glasper Experiment features bassist Derrick Hodge and drummer Chris Dave. They made their debut on one half of Glasper's two-disc "Double Booked" in 2009. The Experiment have also been open to working with vocalists. On their second CD -- and first stand-alone effort -- "Black Radio," they worked with everyone from vocalists Bilal, Ledisi, Erykah Badu, and Lalah Hathaway to rappers Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco, and Shafiq Husayn.

About Lupe Fiasco: Wasalu Muhammad Jaco, better known by his stage name Lupe Fiasco, is a Chicago-born, Grammy award-winning American rapper, record producer, entrepreneur, and community advocate. Rising to fame in 2006, following the success of his debut album, "Food & Liquor," Lupe has released more than four acclaimed studio albums; his latest being "Drogas Wave" released fall 2018. His efforts to propagate conscious material helped solidify him as GQ’s Man of the Year in 2006, and garnered recognition as a Henry Crown Fellow. While musical genius and ingenuity are at the forefront of Lupe’s achievements, the artist extends his innovation to projects that aim to foster creative discourse and opportunities in underprivileged and impoverished communities.

About Herbie Hancock: Herbie Hancock is an American pianist, keyboardist, bandleader, composer and actor. Hancock started his career with Donald Byrd. He shortly thereafter joined the Miles Davis Quintet, where he helped to redefine the role of a jazz rhythm section and was one of the primary architects of the post-bop sound. In the 1970s, Hancock experimented with jazz fusion, funk, and electro styles.

About Terrace Martin: Terrace Martin is an American musician, rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor from Los Angeles, California. He is perhaps best known for producing records for several prominent artists in the music industry, including Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, The Game, Busta Rhymes, Stevie Wonder, Charlie Wilson, Raphael Saadiq and YG among others. Martin is a multi-instrumentalist, whose music production embodies everything from funk and jazz to classical and soul. Martin recently released his sixth studio album "Velvet Portraits" on his newly formed label, Sounds of Crenshaw Records, through Ropeadope Records. The experiment was conducted from August 14 to 20,1971 by a team of researchers led by psychology professor Philip Zimbardo at Stanford University. It was funded by a grant from the U.S. Office of Naval Research and was of interest to both the US Navy and Marine Corps in order to determine the causes of conflict between military guards and prisoners.
Twenty-four students were selected out of 75 to play the prisoners and live in a mock prison in the basement of the Stanford psychology building. Roles were assigned randomly. The participants adapted to their roles well beyond what even Zimbardo himself expected, leading the "officers" to display authoritarian measures and ultimately to subject some of the prisoners to torture. In turn, many of the prisoners developed passive attitudes and accepted physical abuse, and, at the request of the guards, readily inflicted punishment on other prisoners who attempted to stop it. The experiment even affected Zimbardo himself, who, in his capacity as "Prison Superintendent", lost sight of his role as psychologist and permitted the abuse to continue as though it were a real prison. Five of the prisoners were upset enough by the process to quit the experiment early, and the entire experiment was abruptly stopped after only six days. The experimental process and the results remain controversial. The entire experiment was filmed, with excerpts made publicly available.

See The Site Here: http://www.prisonexp.org/ Robert Glasper Experiment - Calls ft.
