The first installment in hip-hop group Sol Development's free event series addressing gun violence, Living In The Frequency of Love, takes place June 17 at the Bandcamp record store and performance space in downtown Oakland.
In addition to Sol Development, Sacramento's jazz-fusion band Mino Yanci is slated to perform. The event also features a panel discussion about methods of preventing gun violence. Speakers include local elected officials such as Lateefah Simon from the BART board of directors.
While the event is free, there's a suggested $10 donation to benefit Live Free USA, an organization that works with community leaders, clergy, law enforcement and those affected by gun violence to strategize for prevention.
