Ras Kass has steadily dropped quality material since he came on the scene in the mid-1990s. Soul On Ice 2 is an important album in a respected discography, especially since it was first announced three years ago. When this sequel to 1996’s cult-lauded original was released at the beginning of September, Heads were treated to Razzy Kazzy’s high-level lyricism alongside an all-star line-up of producers and guests.
The Pete Rock-produced “Can U Feel It” is a highlight within the Mello Music Group LP. This cut sees Razzy reunite with Pete Rock for a soulful groove powered by a simple vocal sample and tidbits of a 1970s Jazz record that’s become a Hip-Hop standard. The last time these two teamed up was for 2009’s “If This World Were Mine” from Ras’ The Quarterly project. So, fittingly, “The Waterproof MC” and “The Chocolate Boy Wonder” got together to film a video for this smooth joint.
