 Fantasy Award and won the Mythopoeic Award.  Joyce Maynard's latest bo
 ok is Under the Influence. She's also written 15 other books, includin
 g the novels After Her and To Die For and the best-selling memoir, At 
 Home in the World. Her novel, Labor Day, became a movie, adapted and d
 irected by Jason Reitman, and starring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin. S
 he was a columnist for the New York Times, whose Domestic Affairs colu
 mn also appeared in 50 newspapers nationwide. She's also been a regula
 r contributor to NPR, O, Newsweek, The New York Times Magazine and oth
 ers.   Noah Smith blogs about economics at Noahpinion. He also writes 
 for the Atlantic and Bloomberg View. He's an assistant professor of fi
 nance at Stony Brook University.  Peter Tieryas' latest book is United
