//\n\nABOUT SOFT ROCKS:\n\n“We make records, release them and someti
mes play them to people (when we get the chance)...”\n\nSoft Rocks h
obbled onto the scene in 2003. Their first record was notable for pred
ating current re-edit mania by some years, and being the only one of t
heir own releases so far not to have a pressing fault or printing erro
 r. Spurred on by this success, Soft Rocks immediately went dormant for
a year.\n\nSince then, things have got marginally more serious. But o
nly marginally. They set up two sister labels; Disco Powerplay and Cho
colate Love for edits, whilst Soft Rocks Recordings focuses mainly on
original(ish) material. Remixes have trickled in for the likes of Lo M
otion Disco, MGMT, Disco Sessions & Chris Coco, some of which you can
even buy in the shops.\n\nRecently the lovely people at Mule Musiq & L
o Recordings have released Soft Rocks tracks, and a home is currently
being sought for the pending 2009 LP, which is either going to be call
ed The Curse of Soft Rocks or The Joy of Soft Rocks.\n\nSoft Rocks hav
e dj'ed at clubs, festivals and parties across Europe. Finally a few m
ore people seem to be picking up the hint that they don't just play do
wntempo weird nonsense and tailfeathers have been seen a shakin' to th
eir heady mix of disco, house, boogie, leftfield jams, reggae and othe
r oddities.\n\nSoft Rocks, born of well-girded loins in fair Brighton
town are enigmas on top of mysteries, on top of scandals, on the top d
eck of a double decker bus. They are a collective, they are calm and c
ollected, they are collectible, and possibly even contemptible.\n\nSom
ewhere far beyond obscure and eclectic lies Soft Rocks. The heavy-duty
Brighton-based record collectors who have recently moved into product
ion, dropped into the studio on a blazing hot Saturday afternoon to re
cord a mix that took in everything from Dutch prog-rock, Italo-disco t
o French filth by way of a BBC B-side. If you enjoy the music you hear
on the mix, don’t bother looking for it, because you’ll never fin
d it. And if you do find it, it'll cost you a fortune.\n\nFor more inf
