 ell Williams and Chad Hugo met at the ages of 12 at a summer camp in V
 irginia Beach, for musicians; which they both disliked. They spent the
 ir free time making beats and performing in groups with fellow childho
 od friend Timbaland. Williams and Hugo met Shay Haley in high school a
 nd began performing together. The trio often met in Hugo's garage, whe
 re he beatboxed through a speaker system while Haley danced. After wat
 ching the duo perform at a high school talent show, Teddy Riley, a mus
 ician and producer, signed Williams and Hugo in 1992. After producing 
 songs for several artists throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, t
 he production duo formed N.E.R.D (an acronym for No one Ever Really Di
 es) in 2001 as a side project.\n\nThe band's sound generally contains 
 elements of rock, funk and hip hop, while also encompassing R&B and po
 p.\n\nTIMBALAND\n\nTimothy Z. Mosley AKA Timbaland, so named by Jodeci
  member Devante Swing after the Timberland boot, has had many reincarn
 ations--from disc jockey DJ Tiny Tim to half of the hip hop group Timb
 aland & Magoo; from membership in Devante Swing’s Swing Mob crew kno
 wn as Da Bassment to S.B.I. (Surrounded By Idiots), a production ensem
 ble including Pharrell Williams, to being CEO of his own label, Mosley
  Music Group.\n\nGinuwine’s hit single “Pony” and debut LP Ginuw
 ine…the Bachelor, produced by Timbaland, introduced a unique rhythmi
 c style that defined the new wave of music in the ‘90s--R&B and hip 
 hop mixed with an eclectic smorgasbord of effects held together by com
