Denise Benavides is a queer xicana performance artist, poet, and educa tor based in Oakland, California. She uses the stage/page to confront themes of xenophobia, relocation, sexuality, religion, and love. Alway s, love. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College and i s currently teaching at Skyline College. Her debut collection of poetr y, Split, was released in the fall of 2016 by Kórima Press. Robyn Be nnis is the author of The Guns Above. She's a scientist living in Moun tain View, California, where she works in biotech but dreams of airshi ps. She has done research and development involving human gene express ion, neural connectomics, cancer diagnostics, rapid flu testing, gene synthesis, genome sequencing, being so preoccupied with whether she co uld that she never stopped to think if she should, and systems integra tion. Christina Ann-Marie DiEdoardo is the author of Lanza's Mob: Th e Mafia and San Francisco. She's a criminal defense lawyer working in SF. She was part of the team of activists and lawyers who secured the repeal in 1998 of San Diego Municipal Code 56.19, the last enforced cr iminal ordinance in a major American city which targeted transgender p eople for appearing in public. She's the only openly transgender attor ney licensed to practice law in the state of Nevada, and she crafted t he procedure for Nevada courts to grant legal name and gender changes, which is still being used, with some modifications, to this day.
