.com/J BOOG is a man of many influences. The singer of Samoan descent
was born in Long Beach and raised in Compton, California. Growing up i
n the rough streets of Compton, the strong sense of tradition and cult
ure that J Boog absorbed from his family was instrumental in his path
to stay off the streets and begin a successful music career. After rel
easing his debut album “Hear Me Roar” in 2007, he joined the music
al family Wash House Music Inc, a record label based in Hawaii and San
Francisco. Since then he has released several smash singles, includin
g \"Let's Do It Again\", one of biggest dancehall tracks of 2011. His
new album, “Back Yard Boogie” features the reggae giants Richie Sp
ice, Tarrus Riley, Fiji and Morgan Heritage, as well as Hip-Hop supers
tar Snoop Dogg.BAYONICS define today’s Bay Area experience, fusing t
he musical genres of hip-hop, Latin music, funk and reggae with elemen
ts of rock and jazz. They have been described as the new, hip-hop infl
uenced generation of legendary groups like War and Santana, continuous
ly expanding and melding genres to match the evolving cultural landsca
pe. Bayonics claimed the Bay Area spotlight this summer with an award
and a highly anticipated new album. The nine-piece band was awarded th
e SF Bay Guardian Editor’s Pick for Best of the Bay – “Best Fris
co Fusion” just last week. They are set to release their second albu
m, Mission Statement. With a diverse collection of songs like Wheels K
eep Turning, Paz y Guerra, and Northern Cali, the new album defines th
e award.Bayonics and Mission Statement are literally and figuratively
a product of the Bay. The album features a wide array of local talent
such as renowned MC’s Lateef the Truthspeaker and Approach, Jazz Maf
ia’s Adam Theis, and QBA vocalist Orlando Torriente. It was locally
produced in the Mission District by the Rondo Brothers, whose past pro
jects and collaborations include acts such as Dan the Automator, Hands
ome Boy Modeling School and Deltron 3030.\n\nFor more information visi
