 rding and performing for nearly 30 years. Known as a turntablist, he s
 tarted his journey into djing at age 11. By the time he was 14 year ol
 d, Cut started recording with his friends (including Chali 2na of Jura
 ssic 5) in an inclosed sun patio that his dad converted into a small m
 ake-shift recording studio. By age 21, Cut was a founding member of bo
 th the rap group Jurassic 5 and the Grammy award winning Latin funk ou
 tfit, Ozomatli. His involvement with both groups helped develop a tast
 e for music and rhythms from around the world while keeping his passio
 n for the hip hop tradition. His mix-tapes and remixes became critical
 ly acclaimed. His ‘Chemist’ moniker was fully realized with his in
 strumental, Lesson 6: The Lecture. In the years following, Cut started
  a series of mix cds with DJ Shadow using all 45s. Brainfreeze, Produc
 t Placement and The Hard Sell, the last of which debuted and headlined
  at the world famous Hollywood Bowl.\n\nDan The Automator (Grorillaz,

  Nakamura has never waited for approval or applause. For over two deca
 des, he has created progressive, genre-warping music on his terms. A p
 roducer, composer, engineer, and DJ, Nakamura remains in constant moti
 on, performing on stages around the world and lending his singular art
 istic vision to one endeavor after another.\nWhether collaborating wit
 h like-minded artists such as Del the Funky Homosapien and Damon Albar
